Second Tutoring Observation
The tutor started the session off badly he was very boring and he just
corrected all of the students grammatical errors. He also got the
students name wrong over and over again. He did explain to the student
why you cannot put a quote in the beginning of a paragraph because
without a topic sentence to guide the writer to express an idea the
reader will not understand what is going on. The student was able to
understand how her ideas did not support her quote. The student and the
tutor began creating topic sentences to support her quotes. Student was
an ESL learner and had had difficulty with English words. Tutor didn’t
really offer another chance to work together and seem happier when it
was over.
